The Cougar NBA tracker: Jimmer Fredette, game 5

Jimmer Fredette had one of the best seats in the house again as the Kings shot just 41.9 percent from the field and 27.3 percent from three as they fell 104-91 to the Portland Trailblazers on Friday night.

Fredette was a DNP-CD for the fourth time this year on a night where Sacramento fell to 1-4 on the season.

The Kings take the floor again on Saturday in a rematch against Portland.

It doesn’t make much sense that Jimmer hasn’t stumbled on at least a few minutes considering the Kings’ struggles, especially from that of two guard’s Marcus Thornton and Ben McLemore.  In the loss to the Blazers, McLemore played just over seven minutes and picked up four fouls.  As for Thornton, he played more than 40 minutes but finished just 2-for-11 from the field, including 1-for-6 from beyond the three-point line.

If Fredette couldn’t get on the floor on a night like tonight, chances are he won’t be finding meaningful time anytime soon.
