The Cougar NBA tracker, Brandon Davies: Game 9

Brandon Davies was back in the starting lineup as the Philadelphia 76ers lost a tough game against the Houston Rockets 88-87 on Friday night.

James Harden had a huge night for the now 8-1 Rockets with 35 points, including the game winning basket with :09 seconds left in the game.  He also added seven assists, six rebounds and three steals.  Dwight Howard had a monster night as well finishing with 21 points, 16 rebounds and seven blocks.  The only other Rocket player to score in double figures was Trevor Ariza who ended up with 13 points while adding nine rebounds and three steals.

Tony Wroten led Philadelphia with 19 points and eight assists while Michael Carter-Williams chipped in with 13 points, five rebounds and five assists for the 0-9 Sixers.

Davies played 28:30 in the loss, but shot just 3-for-12 from the floor, including 1 of 4 from 3-point range to end the night with seven points.  While he struggled with his shot, Davies contributed in plenty of other ways.  He registered five rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block with just a single turnover.

Up next for Davies and the 76ers is a visit to the Spurs to end the Texas road swing on Monday night.
