The Cougar NBA tracker: Brandon Davies, game 59

The Philadelphia 76ers definitely need a little more “practice” if they are going to compete at all the rest of this season.  On a night where Sixers legend Allen Iverson was honored, it was Trevor Ariza who took center stage as the Wizards spoiled the party 122-103 on Saturday night.

Ariza registered 40 points on 8-of-12 shooting from 3-point range as well as adding four steals as Washington improved to 31-28 on the season.  The Wizards also got nice performances from John Wall and Marcin Gortat on the night.  Wall tallied 17 points and 16 assists while Gortat finished with 13 points and 14 rebounds.

Tony Wroten led five Sixers in scoring with 19 points in 27 minutes off the bench while Michael Carter-Williams added 15 points to go along with seven assists and six boards.

Brandon Davies is still sidelined with an injured pinky finger and has been out of action since mid January.

With the loss, Philadelphia falls to 15-44 on the season.  They will be back in action on Sunday afternoon as they travel to Orlando to take on the Magic.
