The worst call I have ever seen

As a die-hard San Francisco 49ers fan I was glued to the television every time they played this year and today was no different.

It was one of the more heartbreaking games that I can remember but that is a different story for another day.

The purpose of this piece is to talk about one of the worst calls I have ever seen in any NFL game.  Thankfully for both 49ers and Seahawks fans it had no bearing on the outcome of the game.  Late in the fourth quarter Russell Wilson completed a pass inside the five-yard line.  Navorro Bowman was able to pull the ball free and managed to hold onto it even though his leg got rolled up on in horrifying fashion. In live action it was clear that Bowman had the ball as he was lying on his back on the ground.  Then the pile jumped on Bowman and he wasn’t able to keep the ball in the scuffle.

Somehow no official on the field managed to see the play as it happened even though it was clear as day to anyone watching.

MarShawn Lynch fumbled the next play to make the effect on the game negligible, but it showed a serious lack of skill by what are apparently some of the best refs in the League.

It’s really time for the NFL to change the rules of replay so garbage like this can be overturned and not have to stand because of incompetent officials.
