This will sound like hyperbole to most of you that read this, but this may be the biggest couple of weeks in BYU sports in a long, long time if all goes well for the Cougars.

The BYU women’s soccer team has already advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament and will play the Colorado Buffalos on Thursday in Florida. Just that alone makes it an important time in Cougar sports but that isn’t all.
The BYU men’s basketball team is off to a 4-0 start after a sweep of the weekend’s games at home, but has as tough a stretch as they will face all season coming in the next ten days. First off for the Cougars is a home date with the Iowa State Cyclones of the big 12. The Cyclones come to Provo with a record of 3-0 after an impressive win over the number-7 ranked Michigan Wolverines on Sunday. BYU has never beaten the Cyclones before, and trying to do it on Wednesday will be a tall order, especially if the Cougars are without the services of their leading scorer Tyler Haws.
After they got done with the Cyclones, the basketball team is off to Kansas City to complete the CBE Hall of Fame Classic. After winning their first two Classic games at home this past weekend, the Cougar will have the challenge of facing Texas, and either DePaul or Wichita State. Texas has a very solid club and is already 3-0 on the young season. If the Cougars can get past game the will like get a shot at the highly ranked Shockers who made it all the way to the Final Four just a season ago.
If that weren’t enough of a feast on your Cougar sports plate, the football team travels to Sound Bend to play Notre Dame on Saturday in a nationally televised game. Notre Dame enters the game with a 7-3 record and has played well most of the season even though they have had a very difficult schedule to this point.
As a Cougar fan, you couldn’t ask for any better stretch of games right around the Thanksgiving holiday. It’s a wonderful time to look back at all you are thankful for and watch some great Cougar action on a national stage.
